Principal’s Welcome

Welcome to Dartford Science and Technology College and thank you for visiting our website.

As the new Principal of DSTC, I am delighted to be welcoming you to a new academic year full of promise and excitement. The new Year 7 and Post 16 students have a lot to live up to as DSTC celebrates the excellent achievement of its students this summer with our best ever results. We also welcome new students in other year groups whose families have moved into the area and we hope you will settle in quickly and enjoy all that we have to offer.

My aim is deceptively simple – keep it good, make it great – and I know I have the full support of Governors and staff to take DSTC to a new and bright future. I hope our Parents will also agree with the mantra and I look forward to meeting and working with you in the near future.

It is not easy being a teenage girl in a rapidly changing, technological society where image, social media and peer pressure push girls to their limits at times. We aim to educate girls so they can make confident informed decisions, use the Internet safely and understand and celebrate their uniqueness and differences. Each girl brings something new to the College and we strongly support each of them to build their feelings of self-belief and self-worth alongside academic success.

We are supported in our educational aims by the Cooperative Trust whose aims of self-help, self-responsibility, democracy, equality, equity and solidarity resonate with the ambitions of us all at DSTC.

We know our girls can achieve whatever they want and we are here to facilitate and nurture their talents in whatever way we can within and beyond the curriculum.
