Results

DSTC staff would like to congratulate all students in Year 13 on their great results. We are delighted to see a solid all round performance at A level this summer despite the increased rigour of the new specifications. Over 60% of grades awarded were A*-C (or equivalent) and over 20% of grades were A* – B.

Our highest performing A-Level subjects are: Maths with 67% A*-C, Media with 80% A*-C, Geography with 75% A*-C, Applied Science with 85% A* -C, Photography with 100% A*-C and the Extended Project Qualification with 60% A*-C. Applied and Tech Level courses continue to excel with 61% of grades in Health and Social Care being a Distinction* or Distinction. In addition 71% of students achieved a Distinction*-Merit in Business and 92% achieved a Distinction* – Merit in ICT.

Of the 34 students who applied to university, 88% have been accepted onto their chosen courses with the remainder of students starting full time employment or have taken up an apprenticeship.

Meredith Sharp with 1 A, 1 Distinction* and 1 Distinction – going to study Child Nursing at Cardiff University.

Paige Tarsey with 1 Distinction*, 1 Distinction and 1 C – going to study Child Nursing at Canterbury Christ Church University.

Phoebe Monk with 1 A, 1 B and 1 Merit – taking a gap year

Megan Williams with  2 B’s and 1 Merit – starting employment at Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
