Sport Relief Day – Friday 23rd March

Dear Parents/Carers,

On Friday 23rd March 2018, in aid of Sport Relief, we will be holding a ‘Wear Something Sporty’ to school day. Students and staff will need to make a small donation of £1.00 which will go to Sport Relief. The money raised will help tackle critical issues affecting people across the UK and around the world. For example, mental health and malaria. The theme for the day is Sports so your daughter can wear anything sport related, such as a tracksuit for the day. Please see the guidance list of what your daughter can wear on the reverse of this letter.

Throughout break and lunch time, there will be an opportunity for students to support the Sport Relief charity by taking part in activities organised by the Sixth Form Community Sports Leadership Group and the staff. For example -Treasure Hunt, Spot the Ball, How many skips in a minute, Danceathon, as well as daily challenges during their PE lessons. In
addition to this, there will be a Sixth Form vs Teachers Netball match during lunchtime which
students can pay to watch. All proceeds from these events will go directly to the Sport Relief charity. Therefore, if your daughter would like to take part in these events they may wish to bring a small amount of money to school with them.

We hope that by supporting such events we raise the students’ awareness of the need to help others in the local, national and international communities.

Please note that lessons continue as normal on this day and school books & equipment should be brought in a usual.

Yours Sincerely,

Miss K Whittaker
Teacher of PE
